There's enough there in the new 3GS over the original model to justify the purchase -- although the 3.0 software update has made the old phone pretty sleek, so there's no rush. And my original AT&T contract is over so there's no financial constraints. I figure once the initial buying frenzy is over I'll stroll into the Apple store and pick one up. The Tom-Tom demo was the kicker for me.
One of the biggest attractions to iPhones in general for me is their integration with OS X and Mobile Me. I had to search high and low (meaning Google) to find a free iSync plug-in for my current Moto RIZR Z3, and in talking to the T-Mobile people I got the impression that synching a G1 or G2 would be even more of a chore.
But as much as I would *love* to have a Jesus phone, I just can't subject myself to the customer service nightmare that is AT&T. Well that, and the fact that I can't afford to pay attention.
Maybe someday, after AT&T's exclusive contract has expired…

New IPhone
I have been waiting for the upgraded model. I still hate to switch from Verizon to AT&T.
