The Pickwick - The "Official" Hotel of Your Mac Life for Macworld 2008!
Thanks to our friends at IDG World Expo, Your Mac Life is thrilled to once again be able to offer its listeners great accommodations at a great rate during Macworld Conference & Expo 2008.
The Pickwick Hotel, located at 85 5th Street (5th & Mission), will again be our (and hopefully your) home away from home this coming January. Its proximity to transportation (BART, not to mentioned the famed cable car turnaround at Powell Street, are nearby), fabulous restaurants and Sly’s favourite tourist attraction – shopping (Bloomingdales is next door as is the San Francisco Shopping Center) – make it an ideal location for all your Macworld accommodation and San Francisco tourist needs.
YML and IDG have developed a quick and easy way for you to reserve your room online for Macworld 2008. Rooms are available at the Pickwick Hotel at the rate of $159.00 per night plus tax (single or double occupancy), which includes hi-speed internet access.
A credit card number is required to process your reservation and you *must* reserve your room by December 14, 2007.
1. Rooms can be reserved online HERE! (By the way, this link should only list the Pickwick as an option once you follow the steps below.)
2. Enter your stay dates and then click Find Hotels.
3. Select "View Room & Rates" and then "Book Now".
4. Enter your contact information and shortly thereafter a confirmation number will be sent to the email address you provide.
5. If you prefer to make your reservation over the phone, please call toll free at 866-704-6724 In the US or (506) 637-0318 outside the US, Monday-Friday from 9am - 8pm EST. Please mention access code YML08 to the operator to be included in the YML block.
Cancellation policy: Reservations may be changed, based upon availability, or canceled until 72 hours prior to arrival date without penalty. Cancellations received less than 72 hours prior to arrival date will be charged one-night's room and tax. Room rates are subject to increase after December 14, 2007 and will be based upon availability.
Please note: All YML reservations will be sent to the Pickwick Hotel at the room block cut-off date of December 14, 2007 directly from the IDG World Expo housing site, so if you feel the urge to contact the hotel “just to be sure” after you’ve made your reservation, please wait until AFTER December 15, 2007 at the earliest.

I checked with the wise and wonderful Rosemary Kelly, IDG's Housing Manager, and unfortunately, the Pickwick Hotel is not designated as an "accessible" hotel due to it's heritage status; because of that and a grandfather clause they were not required to confirm to the Accessibility Act.
Our apologies for the inconvenience.
And word to wise, The Pickwick Hotel is a completely smoke free hotel - anyone found smoking in their hotel room will be subject to a hefty cleaning bill.
