Let's Play, "Spot the Windows Laptop!" :)

Define a "windows laptop".

What makes it a windows laptop? Probably a large number of Macs in that shot could also run windows.

Saw the same thing one summer

LOL!

One summer at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA I saw a similar scene. My one-up-menship is that the room had no wireless internet and only one ethernet plugin. During a long break, I hooked up my Mac laptop, connected to the internet, clicked on internet sharing, and allowed everyone to check their email using Airport through my Mac. All the Macs connected but the Windows guys never seemed to get connected. Pretty sure some now have Macs.

I got an Airport Express to free up my machine the next time I need to do this.

Students Encouraged to Buy Apple

I love the picture, but it should be noted the Missouri School of Journalism "highly recommends" students buy a Macbook or Macbook Pro.

"Students are encouraged to acquire wireless laptop technology from Apple, which the School has designated as its preferred provider, but students also will have a choice of a Windows-based alternative. Last year, 99.5 percent of incoming students chose the Apple option."

Student laptop requirement FAQ also mentions:
Q. What brand or model should I buy?
A. The faculty has designated Apple Computer as its preferred provider for two primary reasons: (1) Apple's OS X operating system is based on Unix, which makes these computers far less susceptible to viruses than other computers. Viruses are a serious problem on university campuses. (2) Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro computers come bundled with iLife, a suite of applications ideal for learning the basics of photo editing, and audio and video editing. We'll use those programs in several classes. Incoming students will receive information on recommended models and pricing in February of each year.

Ok what's the password so we can see a larger photo..
