Amazon MP3 Launches Public Beta

Amazon.com on Tuesday announced the public beta of Amazon MP3, a new digital music service offering digital music downloads in MP3 format, unencumbered by Digital Rights Management (DRM) restrictions.

The files are compatible with any digital music player, including the iPod, and will work on Macs, PCs and any other devices capable of playing MP3 files. Amazon is introducing the service with a library of more than 2 million songs by more than 180,000 artists from more than 20,000 major and independent labels, including popular artists like Kanye West, 50 Cent, KT Tunstall and many more.
