Singing the iPod touch LCD Quality Blues
From Ars Technica
Many iPod touch owners across the web are pretty upset over significant quality problems with the iPod touch display. As our own iPod touch review found, some of the shipping units suffer from questionable color replication, particularly with blacks. While it was originally assumed that the iPod touch would use the same exact display of the iPhone, it has been widely reported that the iPod touch not only uses a different display, but a technically more dense one at 163 dpi vs. the iPhone's 160. This statistic led many of us to be surprised that the iPod touch isn't providing an even higher quality video experience over the iPhone, but a post from someone known only as drvelocity in Apple's discussion forums might offer some clarity on the situation, if not a little disappointment as well.
