Pundits and other idiots

I've reading what the pundits have to say about the new iPod line up and I'm annoyed with the "Who would buy a shuffle? and "Who would buy an iPod Classic?" comments. Lots of people that's who. Plus who says you can only have one iPod? Why not a shuffle for walking, running and hiking and a nano for the car? Or what about the person who needs a 80-160GB portable drive for file storage and transfer that can double as a music and video player? Besides purchase decisions are often more about want than need.

I guess part of the problem is that pundits are often not in the target market for a product but are they so out of touch that they can't understand what others might want? You think they would have learned with the "Overpriced and thus doomed to fail iPod mini." Of course the usual response is that, "buyers are stupid not smart like us."
