Study Claims iPhone Keypad Half as Efficient as QWERTY Keypads
From AppleInsider
A recent usability study found that average cell phone users are far more efficient using physical QWERTY keypads to type messages than they are when using the virtual keypad included with Apple Inc.'s new iPhone.
(Shawn's Comment: Everyone say it with me - "DUH!")

texting while driving??? Whaaaaa?
"Specifically, participants did not think they could text message on the iPhone safely while driving."
Did anyone point out to the participants that it's unsafe and/or illegal to use a cell phone FOR ANY PRUPOSE while driving, let alone for text messaging? Jeeeeeeeez! I hope I'm never sharing the same freeway as those folks!
Actually, I find that what Apple says it mostly true. The less you pay attention to what you're typing on the iPhone, the better it gets.
Affirmative
Ditto. er.....DUH!

Not true everywhere but your point is taken.
"I hope I'm never sharing the same freeway as those folks!"
I'm sharing them all the time here in CT with those folks and it *is* illegal to use them without a handsfree setup here. :(

Double DUH!
I would have to give a big DUH on that one too. But then I've also found that my regular computer QWERTY keyboard is far more efficient then any cell phone QWERTY keyboard. I guess I better mount my computer in the car and keep my keyboard in my lap for far more efficient texting.
