More iPod problems

I just got a replacement cable for the iPod and it's *still* not synching. Upon connecting the cable, all the iPod will do is show the "connected" screen, and then go to the blank screen with the Apple logo, then flashes back to the "connected" screen, and just keeps doing this.

I've also done the reset multiple times, but I keep getting the same thing.

Any ideas?
