Lord Help Us....I Can Haz Guitar!

Yamaha FG700MS

"Well I got this guitar and I (hope to learn) learned how to make it talk."

Here's hoping these wonderful words written by Bruce Springsteen (minus the words in brackets, of course) will be something I'll be saying someday.

So far, I've learned how to tune the guitar and simple C, G and G7 chords. Somehow I don't think Bruce has anything to worry about. ;-)

More later...if my patience and my fingers survive. :-)

You Going to give Garageband '09 Lessons a go?

Im going to try out the Piano lessons....

P.S. I could put a voice recording online :)

LOL!

I've always wanted to play the piano (and wonder if it wouldn't be better to learn first...did take lessons when I was a kid for about 2 weeks), but there's just something about the guitar that seems soothing (and cool).

Well, I'm sure it will seem soothing once I stop making noise. ;-)

I may try the Garageband lessons but, and was looking forward to the artists lessons but then Sting had to come on want to teach me Roxanne (a song that grates every fibre of my being)....so we'll see.

p.s. Oh, and yes, a voice recording would be lovely. :-)

Nice

Yeah as much as im into the really heavy stuff Nine Inch Nails, Mudvayne, System Of A Down etc etc I can really get into Ben Folds. So of course I grabbed his lesson...

I have too many issues with string instruments(I get tangled) so I figure ill stick with piano for a while at least until I can bash out a few tunes. I'll probably stick with it as I think my brain is turning into goo at my current job so apparently learning an instrument can keep my mind stimulated and hopefully stop my brain leaking out my ears.

I sent a recording through with my contest entry to contest [at] yourmaclifeshow [dot] com Im pretty sure that was the address I sent it to... :)
