Headquarters Hotel
On this past show, Sly announced we would once again be using the The Pickwick Hotel as our Headquarter hotel for the upcoming Macworld Expo and Conference in San Francisco, January 14th to 18th, 2008.

Will there by double occupancy rooms available? Will there be a price difference?
Is anyone looking for a roommate? I don't think my wife will make the trip this year (sorry Shawn).

I'm trying to organise as early as possible. I'd like to talk to you about sharing a room. You can reach me at mail [at] japemail [dot] net.
I'm going to make a holiday of it, so I'll be arriving a week early on 7 Jan., then leaving at the end of MacWorld week. Sly has asked the organisers on my behalf if I could get the rate for the prior week. I haven't heard back yet. If that doesn't work out, I'll stay somewhere cheaper for the first week, but I want to stay at the Pickwick during the second. I'd love to share as I wouldn't be there much (waste of a whole room) and it's so convenient.

That's the thing I hate most about hotels. The rates they charge you are insane for what you need it for - a place to put your stuff and a bed/bathroom for about 9 hrs. :(

Double Occupancy - Yes
The special YML rate of $159/night is for single or double occupancy. For those wanting to share 3 or 4 to a room that is possible for $169 and $179 respectively, however, word to the wise, the rooms at the Pickwick run on the small size (corner rooms are a little larger), so I would be wary of having more than 2 people to a room, unless the 3rd is really teeny. :-)
