Mac BU Aware of Security Hole caused by Office 2008 Installer

From Ars Technica

As more and more people get their hands on copies of Office 2008, a lot of information on the good and bad aspects of the new release are beginning to appear. Actually, since Office is a Microsoft product and this is the Mac world, it's mostly information about the bad aspects, bugs, and glitches encountered by users. One problem that's received attention in the last few days is a flaw in Office 2008's installer, which causes a small security hole by incorrectly setting permissions for some directories.

It's a bit of a flub on the Mac BU's part, but it's not exactly a gaping security hole. Microsoft has posted instructions for changing the permissions and ownership to the correct values. There are only two steps to complete, and then your Office installation will be all better, so get fixed up if you're worried.
