Hello Everyone.
My name is Jeremy,
Been a long time listener and was a member of the forums back in 2001-2004. After trying to log onto my original account I was told to make a new one as I was away for entirely too long.
I was in the military til 2004 and was stationed in the middle east for a year and a half where I listened to YML and Trash Talk every week as I was able to download the weekly shows back on the old website before Podcasts were available. Yes, it seems strange now days as I can not imagine iTunes without being able to buy songs any more. However when iTunes started selling songs online it was the best thing for sliced bread for us in the military over there as we (some of us) were able to get online every so often and we would spend our bandwidth by buying the latest songs and dropping them onto our iPods or as I would do make everyone I was working with listen to YML or TT. Listening to you folks getting drunk in Nashville on Trash Talk really was a blast and we always had a good time listening to the shows especially for me personally after having to go back to New Canaan, CT for a week during my tour of duty in the middle east due to my grandmother passing away. It made me forget where I was for a few hours each week. Gotta love Involuntary extensions.
Anyhow...
While in the middle east I sent in a few pictures of my Powerbook signed by Arnold Schwarzenegger when he
was there supporting the troops. This was all prior to him being elected Governator of California. (Wonder if anyone remembers those pictures)
I moved to Maine after getting back from over there and I have to say is it different from being in the military up here. Different, but a good kind of different and well you can never get enough Lobsters.
Well thats it for now as its getting time to leave for work.
But I wanted to thank Shawn and Crew for making life in the middle east a little easier for at least one soldier over there and let you know that what you do makes a difference in peoples lives.
Thanks for the good times over the years and hope there are many more.
-Jeremy
