Dead Hard Drives?
I have two external FireWire 400 drive cases. One 3.5" and one notebook drive size. Both WD. I have to admit to not using them for quite some time - years. When I grabbed one to do a CCC backup before installing 10.5, I found both of them wouldn't mount.
Drive utility shows the "first level" but not the "second level" of each drive. It seems to recognize size of the drive, but cannot mount, format, etc.
TechTool shows bad sector after bad sector...
I have drives older than these two and this is the first that I've had a drive problem - I know, lucky me!
They've been stored in a cool, dry closet away from anything that should harm them.
Anything further that I can try with them before just pitching them? Any ideas on what may have happened?
Thanks!

Do you have a copy of DiskWarrior you can run on them to see if that might help?
