Why Wouldn't this Work? Screw it - Let's give It a Try!

Our firend Jeff La Grua passed this along:

Shawn, got this as a forward of a forward of a forward. Its interesting, and perhaps wholly unrealistic, BUT its an interesting thought exercise, and maybe, just maybe, crazy enough to work.

I am against the $85,000,000, 000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I am in favor of giving $85,000,000, 000 to America
in a "We Deserve It Dividend."

To make the math simple, let us assume there are
200,000,000 bona fide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is
about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So
200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that
equal s $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every
person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.

Today is TimeShoot Day!

The previous TimeShoots have been great - the Flickr page has received hundreds of pictures of moose, housecats, indoors, outdoors, lighthouses, beaches, beer, ice, at least one person in a bathtub and shots from four different continents! :)

Take photos wherever you happen to be under whatever circumstances you happen to be in at 3pm ET on August 9th!

Monthly TimeShoot - August 9th @ 3pm ET!

Happy Canada Day!

June 9th TimeShoot Pictures

Yesterday was our fifth TimeShoot and, as usual, we had some wonderfully inventive and interesting shots taken.

People from around the world take pics of themselves, their kids, their computers their workplaces...

I only wish I could have participated this time - yes, I missed my own TimeShoot! :(

Next month's TimeShoot will be July 9th 2 6am ET - I might miss that one, too. :)

Shawn Rides, Lesa Climbs!

Both Shawn and were off traveling this weekend. Shawn was off exploring the environs of Connecticut on his motorcycle:

crossing over the 5000 mile mark in only 73 days!

Lesa was hanging out at Lake Louise, Alberta with Maurice Chevalier:

It's a beautiful place and Lesa got some great shots!

Click the pics above to go to the Flickr feeds.

This Month's TimeShoot is Friday at Noon!

Remember - you don't necessarily have to *be* in a particular place at a particular time - all you have to do is have your camera with you at that time. If you happen to be at your office, click away. At home? Take shots of your kids. On the bus? Take pics of the city streets.

Lesa and Shawn Ski Mount Snow!

We went skiing again this past weekend - first to Butternut in CT then up to Mt Snow in VT. Lesa is getting better and better. She even tackled a "Black Diamond" run for the very first time!

For the record, we used the Olympus 790SW to shoot the movies and then edited them in iMovie HD.

Sam Downie is a Sleazeball

I've been involved in the Macintosh Community for 13+ years and I have *never* seen anything as blatantly stupid and sleazy as the stunt Sam Downie pulled off this past week.

Lesa Skis!

Who would have thought that a small town girl from Texas would turn into a shredding little Ski Bunny!? But that's exactly what Lesa has done. She's taken to skiing like a duck to water and, after only a few trips down the mountain, is actually pretty damn good! Click the image below to watch the video:

Fire Island Lighthouse and the Nikon D300

Thanks to the Suffolk County Long Island Photographers Meetup Group, Lesa and I went out to the Fire Island Lighthouse on Long Island for a photoshoot on Saturday and I brought the D300 I had on loan from Nikon!

Your Mac Life Christmas!

It's December and that means it's time for the Holiday Season - or, more accurately, *shopping* for the Holiday Season.

In the Sprit of Christmas (or Capitalism), we want to know about your Holidays - did (or do) you have any particular Holiday Traditions? A certain kind of food you ate or eat? How about Your Christmas Tree - when did you put it up/take it down? Lights? Wreaths?

What was the best/worse present you ever got/gave? What do you most love/hate about the Holidays? What do you plan on giving this year to that Special Someone? What would you most like to receive?

All this month, we'll be taking your thoughts on the Holidays. Send us email to onair at yourmaclifeshow.com with "Christmas" as the Subject Line and we'll read your emails on the air each Wednesday evening.

Happy Holidays!

We got a Wii!

Momma Snider is in town for Thanksgiving so we got her playing the Wii (Lesa even made her her own "Mii"). After kicking our butts in bowling, Momma took up Table Tennis!

But stay out of Lesa's way - she'll smack you on her backhand!

The 7-point-system on “Your Mac Life”

"One of my most revealing interviews yet."

(Shawn's Comment: I’ve interviewed Scott several times and all I try to do is not ask the same questions everyone else has asked. )

Sunday Ride on the New Bike

New bikes require a "break in" period. And what better way than to ride around New York State and New England, finding twisty roads and taking pictures?

Lesa gets a brand new BMW F800ST!

It's always one big adventure around Lesa and Saturday was no exception. She took possession of her "dream bike" - a brand new BMW F800ST:

To say she was happy doesn't begin to describe it!

Lesa gets her hair done!

Shawn was bored yesterday so he followed Lesa to the Hair Salon...

It was an enlightening experience, to say the least. Wil has a beautiful location...

And Lesa worked right through the entire process!
